Mozilla says "Firefox shuffles its UI for no goddamned reason whatsoever"

Mozilla press release: 1 Oct 2026

"Hello From Mozilla. We're happy to announce that we've shuffled up Firefox's UI for no goddamned reason whatsoever. It's not an improvement over the previous UI. If anything, it looks a bit worse! As always, modern tech companies must change their UIs all the time, and we intend to follow every trend in the market. Just like we integrated a stupid fucking VPN that sucks, and crammed AI features in our stupid browser to make it worse, we must also change the UI for no goddamned reason whatsoever."

"We hope you find this new UI somewhat confusing and slightly more difficult to work with. In a future version we will probably add some new feature that sucks, and initially allow you to disable it via about:config, but then later remove that option entirely for no goddamned reason whatsoever."

"We know that no matter how many avoidable missteps we keep fumbling into, Chrome is worse, so you're stuck with us. We're confident our ever-shrinking user-base will love our completely needless and ugly UI changes, and hope that a smaller percentage of the current base sticks around for the future of Firefox!"
